Hello all, with New York fashion week coming to a close and London Fashion week in full swing I've been left with some serious shoe envy. It sent me running to the nearest store to get myself a pair of over the knee boots. With a huge range of colours and materials to choose from the OTKs are my style staple for the new season.

6 Spring/Summer 2014 Trends

I can't tell you how excited I am about SS14. I always tend to get bored towards the end of the seasons and i'm ready to put away the chunky knit jumpers and pull out the cool linen and chiffon. As much as I love the neutral winter pallet of blacks, greys and browns, after 6 long months i'm hankering after the sugar sweet shades of spring.

So here are some of the top trends for the new season:

1) Candy Land

Sweet shades of pistachio green, blush pink, lemon and lilac are colouring the runways for SS14. (All pictures Burberry spring/summer fashion show)

2) Coordinating Separates

This is a major trend for the spring/summer season, and it's super easy to wear. I have been lusting after Alexander Wang's new collection since I saw it on the runways, sadly my purse isn't so obliging.

3)Sporty

SS14 is offering a dose of athletic edge. This trend is all about wearing a cute sporty piece like a bomber jacket or trainers and combining it with your basic wardrobe for an effortlessly chic look. Think varsity meets classics!
Tommy Hilfiger 3) Sporty
Marc Jacobs

4)Wide leg trousers

It's time to ditch those skinnys as SS14 brings in the slouchy wide leg pant (especially in white), which can look just as sexy when paired with a crop top, which are also a big trend for the season, or sheer blouse.
BCBG Max Azria
Mulberry
Michael Kors

5) Graphic Prints

Bold prints and patterns have been all over the runways. I especially love Diane Von Furstenburg's take on the trend.
Kate Spade
Balmain

Ralph Lauren
Diane von Furstenburg

6) Bling it on

SS14 is all about embellishment, beaded, bedazzled pieces add some glamour!
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Saint Laurent
Dolce and Gabbana

Tory Burch
Rita Ora in Prada

Hope you enjoyed my taster for the new seasons collections, sadly most of us can't afford the designer price tags, so in the next blog i'll be showing you how to get the look for less.

See you all soon, K.J. X

SQUATS CHALLENGE!

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been such a long time! I've finally finished college, i'll be going to the Rocky Horror Show tomorrow and it's my birthday next week, woo! Despite being so busy i've managed to keep focused on my exercise and nutrition routines and since today is legs day I wanted to try something new and found this little gem:
This is the Call Me Maybe Mighty Squat Challenge and is amazing for getting super sexy legs and butt. I definitely recommend this one, even though you feel like you're going to collapse about half way through!

Remember not to let yourself fall out of your routine just because you're off on holiday, get out and get active even if it means dragging friends out too! K.J. X

Spring Fling!

Bringing my wardrobe up to date with this seasons latest trends...

Hi everyone! It's finally starting to feel like spring where I am! A few weeks ago I was riffling through my wardrobe when I thought that my accessories looked a little drab! With the trends for this season loving both the bright and pastel shades I decided a total revamp was in order. I used a mixture of online shopping, high street stores and vintage shops to get the look.

Spring Fling!

Trying to be artistic and make it look like a magazine shoot

Bubble Necklaces - eBay (currently at 10p online but it'll go up) There are loads of these necklaces on eBay and they're really cheap. I ordered both of mine over from China and payed around £6.00 (with postage and packing)
These necklaces are prefect if you want to make a statement. I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped by people asking where my necklace was from.

Statement Bib Necklace - eBay £5.53
I originally bought these from Forever 21 after seeing them on the spring runways, they only sold these colours so the necklaces on eBay are cheaper and give you more colour choices.
Accessorize - I can't find this on the website anymore but they might still have some in store, I think it was around £25.00

Miami Neon Statement Necklace - Accessorize £19.00

Cutesy Charm Rope Necklace - Accessorize £12.00

Close up of some of the charms on the necklace. I think this would be perfect to complete a beach bikini outfit!

Las Salinas Wow Lux Multi Bangle Set - Accessorize £15.00
Make sure you check out the other bangle sets Accessorize have in this season, they're all really cute and perfect for summer!

I found this ring in an antiques store in Todmorden and had to have it! It needs a bit of paint on the spots where it's run off though. There are lots of similar rings available on eBay.

Oversize White Garland - Topshop £20.00

Blooming Magnificent Digital Silk Square - Accessorize £25.00

Another close up of the scarf showing the beautiful print. It doesn't look as bright as it does in person here, but it is the perfect scarf for spring/summer and rocks the bright colours trend.
'Smart Deva' Mid Sandals - Clarks £45.00

Teal Inca Demi Wedge Sandal - BHS £25.00
Another Item I got from the antiques shop in Todmorden!

Long Wrap Around Strap Watch - eBay £2.99

Envelope Clutch Bags - eBay £6.99

Transparent Clutch Bags - eBay £6.99

This is my D.I.Y clear clutch, I bought a clear draw box from Muji
I'm fairly sure this is the size of box I got at £7.95: http://www.muji.eu/pages/online.asp?Sec=9&Sub=39&PID=2426
and bought a handle from eBay and glued them together, simple!
Glass Earth - eBay £9.99
I fell in love with this when I saw it and thought it was perfect for the handle of my D.I.Y clear box clutch. It comes with the silver ring you can see at the bottom which I super glued to the globe and the box. Making for a stylish, unique, (and cheap) clear clutch.

Accessorize - You need to be quick if you want this clutch bag, they've already sold out online and you can only get the purse. I have seen them in store though so if you want it make sure you go and get it soon!
Digi Gem Zip Top Purse - £9.00
Digi Gem Envelope Clutch - £35.00

Close up of the detailing, the clutch is really eye-catching so if you're looking for a statement bag i'd suggest going for this one.

White Winged Transparent Bowler Bag - £19.99
I'm loving the craze for transparent bags this season and was looking for something a bit bigger than my clear clutch for daytime wear.

Hope you enjoyed looking through my recent purchases and they inspire you to shop the trends, I have tried to cover most budgets.  Try to be creative yourself like I did with my clear box clutch bag, and then you'll have your own one of a kind piece.

Have a fab spring! Love K.J. X
