HAPPY EASTER!

Hi everyone, Happy Easter!

Sorry that it's been so long! Now that I am on holiday (finally) i'll be able to get some more blog posts on. Something that i've never posted about before but really enjoy is home decor. I love buying little things for my house and especially love decorating for the season. Last week I ordered some cute decorations so that I would be ready for spring/easter to replace all of the reds and purples of the winter season for something fresher!
Easter wreath from John Lewis!
Here's a close up of the easter wreath, I love the eggs they used!

A view of the dining room looking very seasonal!
I filled the table centrepieces with gypsophila to brighten up the table that had been red for winter and added in some yellow butterflies.

These little egg nests I bought made cute place settings!

I added butterflies into the centrepieces for a splash of colour amongst the white.
I used these sweet egg shaped candles in the middle of the centrepieces again to add some colour.
Eggs that I place in a basket on the side table to add more colour to the room!

Adorable chick baskets
The Easter tree! My family's new tradition is to decorate this tree for each season/holiday!

Another view of the easter tree.
To show the spring theme I wanted to take the metal branches and make them look more alive, since spring is about new growth. I used moss from the garden centre and attached it to the branches to create this idea.
I love these little chicks! I decided to use yellow and green decorations for the tree since they are fresh and vibrant reminding me of spring!
All of the decorations used on the tree came from John Lewis in little box packs!
One of the cute bunny decorations!

As I mentioned before I love these little chicks. I saw this set and had to have them, I love the tiny sunglasses! Chilling out in the sun!!!

Super fashionable chicks!
I hope that you've all enjoyed your Easter! Lets hope that the weather stays as nice as it was today! (fingers crossed) K.J. X

Blog bites: Cauliflower Rice

Hi everyone, sorry it's been so long since my last blog, I have a drama exam coming up this week but hopefully by next weekend i'll be able to start posting regularly again.

Anyway, I thought i'd share my new favourite meal, cauliflower rice. This is a really yummy recipe that is perfect  if you're in a rush, plus it's really low in calories! You can add different vegetables and spices depending on your mood such as garlic and ginger.

CHICKEN FRIED CAULIFLOWER "RICE"- CLEAN EATING RECIPE

1 medium to large sized head of cauliflower
2-3 tablespoons olive oil or preferred cooking oil
1 medium sized onion, diced
200g chicken breast, cut into pieces
2 large eggs, cracked & lightly beaten (set aside)
Coarse sea salt and cracked pepper, to taste
Soy sauce to taste
Grate the cauliflower using a food processor with the grater attachment or use a hand grater until it is at rice consistency.

Preheat two woks/pans over medium-high heat. Two pans are useful because if you overfill a pan you will cause the ingredients to steam instead of brown and fry. It is important to have room to spread out the ingredients while cooking.
Add about two tablespoons of oil and the onions to one of the hot pans. Cook the onions until soft and translucent.
In the other pan, cook the chicken pieces in a little oil until they are no longer pink in the middle. Set aside. Add the egg to the pan and scramble. Set aside.
Now add the cauliflower to the same pan, (add a little oil if needed) spread it out and cook the cauliflower, allowing it to brown a little. Stir frequently. Repeat this until evenly browned. It should take about 5 minutes. (Don’t forget to keep an eye on the pan with the onions).
Add the scrambled eggs with the cauliflower. Remove from heat when ready.
Now back to the pan with the onions: Continue to cook, And add the cooked chicken.
When both of the mixtures are ready (the cauliflower will be done first), combine them into one pan and stir until evenly mixed. Add salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste. Enjoy K.J. X

Statement Jewellery

I'm a big lover of statement jewelery, from necklaces to rings I think it's the accessories that really make a difference to your outfit. I usually team evening jewelery with casualwear to really make a statement.

I especially love all of the bright colours that are in for spring/summer 2013, I have found a few necklaces now that have gotten a lot of attention when I wear them. One of my favourite high street stores to buy jewellery from is Forever 21, which has just opened in the Trafford Centre near me. Not only is the jewellery fabulous, it's also really cheap so if I want to make some changes to it I don't have to be worried about ruining it.

Here are a few of my favourite statement Jewellery pieces:

ASOS spring stone necklace - £25.00
ASOS spiked jewel brooch - £25.00
(I put this link on this morning and the brooch is now
sold out. Why didn't I get one when I had the chance!)

ASOS Kenneth Jay Lane oval ring - £38.00
REDUCED

If you're short on cash accessories are the perfect way to update your look! With so many high street stores offering great jewellery for low prices it is easy to find something fabulous that will really stand out! So what are you waiting for! K.J. X
