6 Spring/Summer 2014 Trends

I can't tell you how excited I am about SS14. I always tend to get bored towards the end of the seasons and i'm ready to put away the chunky knit jumpers and pull out the cool linen and chiffon. As much as I love the neutral winter pallet of blacks, greys and browns, after 6 long months i'm hankering after the sugar sweet shades of spring.

So here are some of the top trends for the new season:

1) Candy Land

Sweet shades of pistachio green, blush pink, lemon and lilac are colouring the runways for SS14. (All pictures Burberry spring/summer fashion show)

2) Coordinating Separates

This is a major trend for the spring/summer season, and it's super easy to wear. I have been lusting after Alexander Wang's new collection since I saw it on the runways, sadly my purse isn't so obliging.

3)Sporty

SS14 is offering a dose of athletic edge. This trend is all about wearing a cute sporty piece like a bomber jacket or trainers and combining it with your basic wardrobe for an effortlessly chic look. Think varsity meets classics!

4)Wide leg trousers

It's time to ditch those skinnys as SS14 brings in the slouchy wide leg pant (especially in white), which can look just as sexy when paired with a crop top, which are also a big trend for the season, or sheer blouse.

5) Graphic Prints

Bold prints and patterns have been all over the runways. I especially love Diane Von Furstenburg's take on the trend.

6) Bling it on

SS14 is all about embellishment, beaded, bedazzled pieces add some glamour!

Hope you enjoyed my taster for the new seasons collections, sadly most of us can't afford the designer price tags, so in the next blog i'll be showing you how to get the look for less.

See you all soon, K.J. X
